Zayaan Irani is a high school student at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai, where he studies Economics and Mathematics at the Higher Level as part of the IB Diploma Programme. Having grown up in a family of entrepreneurs, he has long been fascinated by the ways businesses shape the world around us. Over time, that interest evolved beyond markets and enterprises into a more broader level of curiosity. One about cities, infrastructure, and the role well-planned development can play in improving people's everyday lives.

Whether through studying business and geography earlier in school, interning with organisations in the banking and real estate sectors like the Zoroastrian Bank and Rustomjee; or exploring entrepreneurship and finance through academic programs at Cambridge and Georgetown - Zayaan has consistently sought to understand how economic decisions translate in the real-world. Alongside his academics, he also enjoys playing football, something that has taught him to value teamwork, community and resilience. Through his project, he hopes to explore a simple but important idea: that every family deserves a home that offers comfort, dignity, and a place to truly call their own; a safe and welcoming ‘aangan’.
